About AI training work

AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems: people prepare the examples and corrections that modern models learn from. For coding-focused projects, contributors create, edit, and evaluate code and model responses so models produce accurate, useful results for real tasks.

The role

We’re hiring an AI Data Trainer focused on Python to develop and refine training data that teaches models how to write and debug code. This is a hands-on, ongoing contractor role where you’ll respond to prompts by producing small- to medium-sized Python solutions and fixes.

  • Create and debug Python code in response to prompt-based tasks.
  • Produce clear, well-structured examples that help models learn contextually relevant responses.
  • Work across various categories to improve model accuracy and reliability.

What you'll do day to day

Your primary activity will be prompt-driven coding: read prompts, write or correct Python implementations, and ensure examples are accurate and well-documented. Contributions will directly shape how models generate and reason about code.

  • Respond to prompt scenarios by writing Python code for small- to medium-sized tasks.
  • Debug and refine code samples so they are correct and clear.
  • Provide examples and context that guide model outputs toward correct, relevant solutions.

Requirements

You must meet the stated qualifications below. We will not invent or assume other credentials—please apply only if you meet these requirements.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the software industry with a strong focus on Python.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Previous experience as an LLM Trainer is preferred but not required; multilingual candidates receive additional consideration.

Schedule, pay, and employment

This is an ongoing contractor, part-time role. Candidates should commit 20–40 hours per week for the next 3–6 months. The position is remote and open worldwide.

Compensation: PAY_PER_HOUR at 8 USD per hour. Labeling software is listed as OTHER and the data type is COMPUTER_CODE_PROGRAMMING (label type: COMPUTER_PROGRAMMING_CODING).

  • Time commitment: 20–40 hours/week for 3–6 months (ongoing project).
  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Pay rate: $8 USD per hour.

Who should apply and next steps

Apply if you are an experienced Python developer who wants to help shape AI behavior through precise coding examples and debugging. Prior LLM training experience is a plus but not required.

To apply, create a profile on OpenTrain and submit your application to this project. OpenTrain helps contributors discover projects, build a profile, and apply in minutes.
