About AI Training and Model Evaluation
AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. People with real-world expertise review examples, assess model outputs, write feedback, and help AI systems become more accurate, useful, and aligned with user needs.
This project focuses on evaluating written AI responses. Your product management judgment will help assess whether generated content follows instructions, communicates clearly, and serves its intended audience.
- Remote, flexible work in a fast-growing technology field
- Apply your existing product expertise without prior AI experience
- Help shape how next-generation AI systems learn and perform
The Role
OpenTrain is engaging Product Managers and Product Owners as expert contributors to an advanced AI system development project. You will evaluate and analyze AI-generated content rather than manage a product roadmap or delivery process.
This is strictly an evaluation and analysis engagement. It does not involve roadmap ownership, delivery management, sprint facilitation, stakeholder leadership, or program governance. Candidates whose primary background is project management, program management, delivery, or scrum leadership should not apply unless they also have deep product management or product ownership expertise in content and specification evaluation.
- Role type: Contractor
- Schedule: Part-time, at least 20 hours per week
- Expected project duration: 1 to 3 months
- Location: Remote
- Eligible countries: United Kingdom, United States, and Canada
- Compensation: $90 to $140 per hour
- Working language: English
What You'll Do
You will review AI-generated responses to a range of product and business writing prompts. Your assessments will combine structured scoring with detailed written reasoning so that project teams can understand both the quality of each response and the basis for your judgment.
The work is performed remotely and asynchronously, with virtual collaboration alongside project managers and reviewers to maintain consistent evaluation standards.
- Assess and compare responses to prompts involving specifications, release notes, user-facing copy, and stakeholder updates.
- Score content for clarity, tone, instruction adherence, and usefulness to the intended audience.
- Write detailed rationales explaining whether each response meets prompt requirements and audience needs.
- Identify fluent but irrelevant or incomplete writing that fails to answer the question.
- Spot factual inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and content that exceeds or misses prompt constraints.
- Collaborate virtually and asynchronously with project managers and reviewers.
- Help maintain consistency and quality across assessments.
Requirements and Qualifications
The role requires professional product management or product ownership expertise, strong written English, and the ability to critically evaluate product documentation. Your domain knowledge matters more than prior experience working on AI projects.
Candidates must be native or bilingual English speakers and based in the United Kingdom, United States, or Canada. The listed experience level is entry level, but the preferred qualifications call for substantial experience creating and reviewing product materials.
- Product management or product ownership experience, ideally with a record in cross-functional product development
- Native-level or bilingual English fluency
- Experience authoring and evaluating specifications, PRDs, acceptance criteria, release notes, or decision documents
- Ability to judge content for executives, technical stakeholders, and end users
- Skill in providing actionable written feedback on technical or user-facing documentation
- Strong attention to detail and critical analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and meet remote project deadlines
- Product management and AI content evaluation subject matter expertise
- Model evaluation, RLHF, or annotation familiarity is helpful but not required
Who Should Apply
This opportunity suits Product Managers and Product Owners who enjoy analyzing language, specifications, and user needs. It is especially relevant if you can distinguish polished writing from content that is inaccurate, incomplete, poorly targeted, or inconsistent with the prompt.
Apply if you want to use your product expertise in a flexible, remote AI training engagement while contributing to the development of more capable AI systems.
- Product Managers with strong documentation and evaluation experience
- Product Owners experienced with requirements, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder communication
- Professionals comfortable delivering precise written feedback independently
- Candidates able to commit at least 20 hours each week for the expected project period
