About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Professionals prepare, write, review, and evaluate high-quality examples so AI models can better understand complex ideas, communicate clearly, and produce useful results.
In this project, your product design expertise will help models learn how experienced designers explain decisions, assess trade-offs, and connect design choices to user and business outcomes. No prior AI experience is required because your domain knowledge is the central qualification.
Contribute to next-generation AI systems through expert written input
Use real-world product design knowledge rather than creating visual deliverables
Work remotely with flexible, asynchronous collaboration
The Role
As a Product Designer focused on analytical writing and design reasoning, you will produce and evaluate written material about product design decisions. You will explain the why behind design choices, make complex reasoning accessible, and document how constraints, users, stakeholders, and business context influence outcomes.
The work centers on written analyses, design documentation, specifications, case studies, comparative assessments, and text generation or evaluation tasks. You will collaborate with project stakeholders through asynchronous channels to clarify requirements and align on deliverables.
Subject matter focus: Product design strategy and design reasoning
Primary data type: Text
Work includes text generation and evaluation or rating
Professional written English is required
What You'll Do
You will apply structured design thinking and strong written communication to help create useful training material for AI systems. The role requires clarity, depth, sound judgment, and the ability to explain decisions in plain English for varied audiences.
Write structured analyses explaining product design decisions, rationale, and user impact
Evaluate and critique product and design information
Explain trade-offs, constraints, and business context clearly
Draft, review, and refine design documentation, specifications, and case studies
Translate complex design concepts and frameworks into accessible language
Compare design solutions and highlight decision points and implications
Collaborate asynchronously to clarify requirements and align on deliverables
Requirements
This opportunity is intended for product design professionals with substantial experience explaining and documenting their work. You should be comfortable synthesizing complex information, making critical judgments in ambiguous situations, and communicating design reasoning to non-technical audiences.
3 or more years of end-to-end product design experience, ideally for web or mobile products
Expertise in product design strategy, prototyping, and design rationale
Experience with prototyping tools, especially Figma
A track record of writing design documents, specifications, critiques, or detailed case studies
Exceptional analytical writing and information synthesis skills
Strong critical thinking and thorough trade-off analysis abilities
Fluent, professional-level written English
Comfort working in English
Experience with text generation tasks
Background at leading universities or renowned organizations is a strong plus
