About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors write, rate, and refine examples that teach models to produce natural, reliable, and culturally accurate responses.

This is flexible, remote work that often requires language skill, attention to detail, and creative judgment. Many projects accept contributors at different experience levels; specialist skills like native-level language ability command higher value.

The Role

We’re seeking a Portuguese Creative Writer to produce and refine conversational text used to train LLM chatbots. This is a remote contract, part-time role where your Portuguese writing will directly shape model behavior and quality.

Work will focus on generating authentic, culturally nuanced replies to prompts, improving AI outputs, and creating examples across styles and scenarios to help models learn natural Portuguese dialogue.

• Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
• Pay: $17 USD per hour
• Minimum commitment: 10 hours/week; preferred 20+ hours/week (flexible scheduling)

What You’ll Do

You will write original Portuguese prompt responses, edit and improve AI-generated text, and produce variations to cover dialects, tones, and contexts. Work emphasizes creativity, clarity, and cultural authenticity.

• Generate high-quality Portuguese responses to given prompts across multiple scenarios and tones.
• Edit and proofread AI outputs for grammar, naturalness, and cultural appropriateness.
• Produce regionally accurate variations reflecting different Portuguese dialects and registers.
• Follow written instructions and project guidelines carefully to meet quality standards.
• Complete short assignments and batch tasks in our task interface on schedule.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have strong written Portuguese and the ability to write in multiple styles. A basic understanding of English is required for following project instructions and communicating with the team.

• Proven writing ability in Portuguese; creative or content-writing experience preferred.
• Five or more years of creative or content writing in Portuguese is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience producing written responses for AI training or data-labeling platforms is preferred (writing tasks specifically).
• Strong editing and proofreading skills; attention to tone, register, and cultural nuance.
• Reliable internet access and ability to work remotely as an independent contractor.

Nice-to-Have Experience

The following skills will strengthen your application but are not strictly required. Candidates with portfolios and prior platform experience will receive higher qualification scores.

• Portfolio of published Portuguese writing (links or descriptions welcome).
• Familiarity with LLM/chatbot tools and prompt-based workflows.
• Experience creating varied persona voices, short-form fiction, dialogue, or marketing copy in Portuguese.

Interview and Testing

The interview includes questions about your writing background and a short writing test. You will be asked about prior experience writing responses to prompts on AI training platforms and about your education level.

A live or timed test will require you to read prompts in English and Portuguese and respond in Portuguese. Responses are assessed for accuracy, creativity, and fluency; the test outcome significantly affects qualification.

• Test will include three short tasks the applicant must answer in Portuguese:
• 1) Describe a Character — Portuguese: "Descreva brevemente um personagem único e vívido usando uma linguagem criativa. Sua descrição deve incluir pelo menos dois traços distintivos."
• 2) Draft a Professional Email — Portuguese: "Escreva um email curto ao seu supervisor solicitando feedback sobre o 'Relatório Financeiro Trimestral' que você preparou. Foque seu pedido na análise de dados e no estilo de apresentação."
• 3) Write a Persuasive Email — Portuguese: "Redija um email conciso para convencer um amigo introvertido a se voluntariar como palestrante em um evento local. Destaque dois benefícios de participar e aborde uma preocupação potencial que ele possa ter."

Compensation, Schedule, and Tools

This is paid hourly work at $17 USD per hour. You will work as a contractor and invoice or record hours per the project workflow. The schedule is flexible; you can often pick tasks to fit your availability.

Tasks are text-based (prompt response writing, text generation, summarization) and completed in an online task interface. Basic familiarity with online annotation or writing tools is helpful.

• Labeling/data types: PROMPT_RESPONSE_WRITING_SFT, TEXT_GENERATION, TEXT_SUMMARIZATION
• Work is 100% remote and worldwide-friendly; proficiency in Portuguese is essential.
• Expected weekly commitment: minimum 10 hours; candidates who can do 20+ hours are preferred.
