AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare, create, review, and refine examples that help AI systems understand visual content, follow creative directions, and produce more useful results.
This work offers a way to apply professional creative skills to cutting-edge technology. Many AI training projects are remote and flexible, allowing contributors to choose a workload that fits their schedule.
OpenTrain is seeking a Photo Editing and Digital Artwork Specialist to create polished visual assets for AI training workflows. You will transform raw images and creative briefs into original artwork, produce variations across styles, and maintain consistent composition, color, texture, lighting, and detail.
The project lasts 12 weeks and supports up to 40 hours per week. Part-time contributors working up to 20 hours per week are also welcome. The rate is approximately $7 per hour.
You will interpret creative briefs, develop original digital artwork, and refine visual outputs to meet specific quality and style expectations. The work requires both creative range and careful control over visual details.
You will also document completed work, including prompts and metadata, and use feedback to improve each output. Assignments may involve oil and watercolor painting, paper art, sketch and drawing, abstract and geometric art, pop art, and mixed media.
Professional experience as a digital artist, photo editor, or in a similar role is valuable, and design-school graduates are welcome. You should be able to demonstrate your capabilities through a strong portfolio showing versatility across visual styles and editing techniques.

This project may suit digital artists, photo editors, illustrators, and creative professionals who enjoy adapting their work to varied briefs. Experience creating stylized artwork, digital assets, or photo-editing work is helpful.
Familiarity with painting, illustration, sketching, abstract design, geometric art, pop art, or mixed-media workflows can help you respond effectively to different visual directions. An entry-level experience level is listed, while portfolio strength and practical software proficiency remain important.
