The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a GIMP Image-Editing Task Specialist to create realistic computer-based tasks for advanced AI models. You will prepare images and other assets, complete editing workflows in GIMP, document the context and steps clearly, and record your computer activity.

Tasks may cover cropping, resizing, retouching, color correction, layers, masks, selections, text overlays, transparency, filters, exports, background removal, graphic edits, and image preparation for web or social media use.

What You'll Do

You will design challenging but reproducible GIMP tasks that reflect real photo-editing and graphic-design situations. Before recording, you will prepare the application, image files, references, fonts, and any other required resources.

After completing each workflow, you will create a clear recording and document the task goals, materials, steps, and expected results. You will also review your work for accuracy, completeness, realism, and alignment with project guidelines.

• Create realistic GIMP tasks based on photo-editing and graphic-design scenarios
• Prepare a reliable work environment and organize image files, references, fonts, and other assets
• Use layers, masks, selections, color adjustments, text tools, transparency, filters, compositing, retouching, and export formats
• Record complete computer workflows from setup through final result
• Write clear documentation that makes each task understandable and reproducible
• Check recordings and instructions for quality, accuracy, and completeness

Requirements

You should have hands-on experience using GIMP for image editing, photo correction, graphic editing, retouching, layers, masks, selections, or exports. Strong knowledge of core GIMP tools and workflows is essential.

The role also requires careful judgment when evaluating natural texture, clean edges, accurate color, and believable results. B2-level English or higher is required to understand instructions and document clear, reproducible steps.

• Hands-on GIMP proficiency across layers, masks, selections, retouching, color correction, compositing, and export workflows
• Ability to design realistic image-editing tasks and prepare a reproducible setup
• Ability to record complete computer workflows and manage image assets
• Strong attention to detail and consistent quality standards
• Reliable self-direction and clear written communication
• Careful review of texture, edges, color, and overall realism
• Experience in graphic design, photography, marketing, content creation, social media, administration, or education is welcome

Compensation and Work Arrangement

This is a remote contractor role available to candidates located in Bangladesh, India, or Pakistan. The advertised rate is up to 15 USD per hour, and the expected commitment is 20 or more hours per week.
