About AI training and this work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building modern AI: people listen, annotate, rate, and correct examples that models learn from. This project sits at the intersection of music and audio: your judgments directly shape how generative music and voice systems write lyrics, sing, and produce arrangements.
100% remote, flexible, and accessible work that often requires domain knowledge rather than formal computer-science credentials.
This role focuses on music judgment—musicality, lyrical quality, vocal performance, and production—not software development.
Project overview
OpenTrain is recruiting experienced music professionals to evaluate generative musical AI outputs in Swedish. You will listen carefully and score model-generated songs, lyrics, voice generation, and training audio, then annotate genre, structure, and vocal/instrumental characteristics.
Role: Music Audio Expert evaluating AI-generated music and training data.
Data type: Audio — tasks use evaluation ratings and classification labels.
Work model: Contractor, part-time, remote, open worldwide.
What you'll do
You will perform focused, detailed reviews of model outputs and training examples. Use your musical expertise and audio-engineering vocabulary to compare clips, assign quality scores, and classify musical attributes.
Evaluate AI-generated music across lyrics, vocal performance, musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, and production quality.
Score the quality of musical training data and flag issues or artifacts.
Annotate genre, sub-genre, song structure, and vocal or instrumental characteristics.
Compare model outputs head-to-head using audio-engineering terminology.
Requirements
We need skilled music professionals who can combine listening judgment with clear written evaluations in English and Swedish.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or sound mixer.
Strong understanding of musical performance, theory, and lyrics.
Native or near-native proficiency in Swedish and English; must understand directions given in English.
Experience writing lyrical music in Swedish.
Comfort annotating audio and using musical/audio-engineering terminology to explain differences.
