About OpenTrain

OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling, helping people discover projects, build a professional profile, and grow in a rapidly expanding industry.

About AI Training and Motion Data

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Contributors collect, annotate, review, and evaluate real-world examples so AI systems can learn how people, objects, and environments move and behave.

In this project, your first-person video and motion-data recordings will help train next-generation AI systems. You do not need prior AI experience; careful data collection, physical task performance, and reliable adherence to instructions are the key qualifications.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Data-Video Generalist to capture motion data and synchronized video footage during specified physical tasks. You will use a compatible smartphone and a head strap to record hands-free, first-person video while following strict collection and quality protocols.

This is a part-time contractor position for candidates eligible to work in designated U.S. states. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, including a minimum of 10 hours of approved video data delivered each week.

  • Contractor, part-time engagement
  • Entry-level opportunity
  • Location: United States, designated states only
  • Pay: $13–$15 per hour
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Minimum output: 10 hours of approved video data per week

What You'll Do

You will collect dependable motion and video data while meeting project milestones and technical requirements. Strong attention to detail is important because recordings must satisfy quality, labeling, and determinism standards.

  • Capture precise motion data with your smartphone during specified physical tasks.
  • Record synchronized first-person video to validate and enhance sensor-data integrity.
  • Follow detailed technical protocols for collection, labeling, quality, and determinism.
  • Complete and deliver at least 10 hours of approved video data each week.
  • Perform repetitive movement tasks safely and accurately.
  • Communicate with the team to clarify guidelines and share feedback on collection processes.
  • Document your work and deliver reliable outputs on schedule.

Requirements

This role is designed for someone who can consistently perform physical recording tasks, follow precise instructions, and work reliably in a remote, data-driven environment. No previous AI-training experience is required.

  • Compatible smartphone: iPhone 12 or newer, Google Pixel 6 or newer, or Samsung Galaxy S21 or newer.
  • Head strap for hands-free recording with both hands; available within 48 hours of the start date.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical protocols and strict quality standards.
  • Physical capability to perform repetitive movement tasks safely and accurately.
  • Reliable ability to deliver at least 10 hours of approved video data each week.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
  • Eligibility to work in designated U.S. states.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity may suit people with high digital literacy who are comfortable using mobile devices and completing structured physical tasks. Experience with smartphones and careful adherence to standardized procedures are helpful, but prior experience in AI or data labeling is not required.

  • People seeking flexible, part-time work in a growing AI-training field
  • Candidates comfortable recording first-person video with mobile devices
  • Detail-oriented contributors who can follow technical instructions consistently
  • Reliable communicators who can work independently and remotely
