  • Opportunities to grow a long-term AI training portfolio

About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Specialists review model outputs, assess them against expert criteria, and provide precise written feedback so AI systems can produce more accurate and useful results.

  • Apply real-world subject expertise to cutting-edge AI systems
  • Use structured rubrics to make consistent judgments
  • Work flexibly from anywhere with a computer and internet connection

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Molecular Biology AI Training Specialist for Molecular Biology AI Evaluation. You will review DNA and RNA construct design tasks and solutions, including sequence design reasoning, and help AI systems learn from careful expert judgment.

This is listed as an entry-level AI training opportunity, and prior AI training, model evaluation, or data annotation experience is a plus rather than a requirement. Strong real-world molecular biology expertise is central to the role.

  • Employment type: Contractor and part-time
  • Location: United Kingdom
  • Language: English
  • Data type: Text
  • Primary task: Evaluation and rating

What You’ll Do

You will evaluate model outputs and source materials using project guidelines and detailed rubrics. Your written explanations will help document why a response is correct, incorrect, or needs improvement, supporting better model behavior over repeated review tasks.

  • Evaluate model outputs involving DNA and RNA construct design
  • Review source materials and model responses against project guidelines
  • Assess designs involving primers, plasmids, gRNA, mRNA, and HDR templates
  • Apply project rubrics consistently and document evidence-based judgments
  • Explain sequence design reasoning clearly in writing
  • Maintain quality and consistency across repeated evaluation tasks
  • Write and review molecular biology tasks and rubrics for AI evaluation

Requirements

This role requires strong academic or professional knowledge of molecular biology and the ability to reason carefully about nucleic acid construct design before experimental runs. An advanced degree in molecular biology or a related life science field is expected, with a PhD strongly preferred.
