The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Medicinal Chemistry Review Specialist to perform expert review and quality assessment of medicinal chemistry content used to train AI models. This is a contract, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week and paying between USD 60–80 per hour.

Work is remote and worldwide; English fluency is required. You will review documents, annotate entities and ratings, identify errors and ambiguities, and give detailed, actionable feedback to improve dataset fidelity.

What You'll Do

• Review medicinal chemistry data, chemical reactions, experimental designs, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Evaluate and annotate chemical structures, mechanisms of action, and structure–activity relationships (SARs).
• Provide detailed feedback on molecular properties, synthesis strategies, optimization pathways, and practical implications.
• Assess datasets for quality, relevance, and suitability for AI model development; flag errors, ambiguities, and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate asynchronously with reviewers and dataset teams to clarify requirements and iterate on submissions to strengthen dataset fidelity.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a closely related field (required).
• Practical experience in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, or pharmaceutical R&D.
• Strong understanding of organic synthesis, molecular design, and SAR analysis.
• Ability to interpret and critique experimental data, literature, and patent information.
• Familiarity with cheminformatics platforms, chemical structure drawing tools, and scientific databases.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills.
