About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for a remote Macroeconomic Modeling Specialist focused on building and validating advanced EViews-based forecasting models. The work centers on time-series modeling, diagnostics, automation of forecasting workflows, and translating statistical output into clear macroeconomic insight that can support broader economic narratives and policy recommendations.

What you will do
- Design and implement time-series models such as VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration frameworks in EViews.
- Run diagnostics and validation checks to assess forecast robustness, stability, and accuracy.
- Automate forecasting workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Document modeling methods and results in concise written reports.
- Convert statistical findings into actionable economic insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills
- Extensive hands-on EViews experience, including scripting and automation.
- Proven ability to build, estimate, and validate time-series models.
- Strong understanding of model diagnostics, stability tests, and forecasting accuracy measures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining quantitative work.
- Background in Economics, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience supporting central banks, policy institutions, or financial-sector clients is a plus.
- Familiarity with R, Python, or Stata is a plus.
