About AI Training and Why It Matters

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human side of building modern AI. Annotators prepare the examples models learn from — drawing boxes, polygons, keypoints, and assigning labels to images and video so models can recognize objects, behaviors, and scenes.

This work is flexible, remote, and accessible: many projects accept contributors without specialized degrees, while experienced annotators are in demand for long-term, higher-quality work.

The Role — What We’re Hiring For

We are seeking experienced image and video annotators based in Western Europe for a long-term project. The assignment requires consistent, high-quality annotations on images and video and a commitment of roughly 15–20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

Employment type: contractor, part-time. Pay structure: PAY_PER_HOUR at USD 14/hour (see application notes on rates below). This project is ongoing and favors reliable contributors who can deliver consistent quality over time.

• Data type: Images and video (computer vision).
• Primary label types: bounding boxes, object detection, classification, polygon annotations, segmentation, and point/key-point labeling.
• Location requirement: must be located in Western Europe.
• Expected weekly commitment: approximately 15–20 hours/week, flexible scheduling.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

You will apply annotation guidelines to image and video frames, produce accurate labels, and submit work via the project’s annotation tools. Tasks vary and may include drawing bounding boxes, creating polygons/masks, marking keypoints, and classifying scenes or objects.

• Create bounding boxes and object detection labels to spec.
• Annotate polygons and segmentation masks for precise object boundaries.
• Place point/key-point markers for pose or landmark tasks.
• Apply classification labels and metadata tags to images or video clips.
• Follow detailed labeling guidelines, report ambiguous cases, and participate in quality reviews and revisions.

Qualifications & Skills

We want dependable, experienced annotators who consistently deliver accurate work and can manage time independently. Preserve and highlight examples of previous image/video annotation projects when you apply.

• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on image and video data labeling experience.
• Proficiency with annotation tools (examples: Labelbox, CVAT, VGG Image Annotator, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines on multi-week/month projects.
• Reliable track record on long-term projects — consistent throughput and quality.
• Location: must be based in Western Europe and able to commit to the weekly hours requested.

Interview Topics & What To Prepare

During screening we'll ask about your hands-on annotation experience. Prepare concrete examples and, if possible, short samples or screenshots that show your work and how you handled difficult or ambiguous cases.

• Describe 2–3 previous image/video annotation projects: your role, label types, tools used, and scale of the work.
• Be ready to explain your workflow and quality-control steps for maintaining high accuracy.
• Explain your availability and how you manage 15–20 hours/week while meeting deadlines.
• Provide your most competitive hourly rate or pricing expectations, considering long-term engagement.

Compensation, Schedule & Practical Details

Pay: USD 14 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). This is a contractor, part-time role with a steady, ongoing stream of tasks when you are active on the project. You set your own hours within the weekly commitment but must complete assigned work on time.

Because this is a long-term engagement, candidates are encouraged to consider the ongoing nature of the project when proposing rates and availability.
