About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People create examples, assess model responses, and explain errors so modern AI systems can produce more accurate and useful results. This work puts careful thinkers at the center of how cutting-edge language models improve.

  • Remote work that can fit around other commitments
  • Flexible opportunities across a fast-growing AI industry
  • A chance to build experience in model evaluation and human feedback

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting an LLM Reasoning Data Analyst to create and assess analytical content used to train and improve large language models. You will work with research questions, realistic scenarios, challenging prompts, explanations, and model feedback.

This contract opportunity is suited to independent contributors who enjoy turning complex questions into realistic scenarios, explaining conclusions clearly, and providing precise feedback that improves model performance. The role is entry level and requires a commitment of 20 or more hours per week.

  • Employment type: Contractor and part time
  • Experience level: Entry level
  • Work arrangement: Remote and worldwide
  • Language: English
  • Data focus: Text question answering, text generation, and evaluation or rating

What You’ll Do

You will answer analytical questions that require research, reasoning, data interpretation, and problem-solving. You will create realistic scenarios and challenging questions for language-model training, analyze trends and numerical relationships, determine accurate outcomes, and write clear answers supported by evidence.

You will also evaluate potential model errors, provide constructive feedback with detailed annotations, and apply consistent judgment when distinguishing accurate conclusions from flawed reasoning.

  • Create realistic analytical scenarios and challenging training questions
  • Analyze trends, logical conditions, numerical relationships, and basic arithmetic
  • Interpret data and determine accurate outcomes
  • Write clear answers with evidence-based explanations
  • Identify model errors and provide precise, constructive annotations
  • Apply consistent judgment when rating reasoning and conclusions

Requirements

Strong English reading, writing, comprehension, research, and analytical ability are required. You should bring logical reasoning, basic arithmetic, creative thinking, and data interpretation skills, along with professional writing or analytical experience in business analysis, research, journalism, technical writing, editing, translation, or a similar field.

Practical experience using Excel and Google Workspace for documentation, analysis, or data-related work is required for this opportunity. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, literature, journalism, communications, arts, statistics, or a related field is helpful, although relevant professional experience may substitute for a degree.

You must be able to work independently in a remote environment with a reliable computer and stable internet connection.

  • Strong English writing, comprehension, research, and evidence-based explanation skills
  • Accurate analysis of trends, logical conditions, numerical relationships, and basic arithmetic
  • Experience creating analytical scenarios and challenging questions for language-model training
  • Sound judgment when identifying model errors
  • Precise, constructive annotation and feedback skills
  • Practical Excel and Google Workspace experience
  • Professional writing or analytical experience, or comparable relevant experience

Who Should Apply

This opportunity may suit writers, researchers, editors, analysts, journalists, translators, and other professionals who can investigate a question, reason through evidence, and explain an answer clearly. It is also a fit for people who enjoy testing the limits of language models and spotting where their reasoning breaks down.

  • Professionals with strong analytical or professional writing backgrounds
  • Careful readers who can identify subtle reasoning errors
  • Independent contributors comfortable with remote work
  • Candidates seeking entry-level experience in AI training and data evaluation
