About AI training work
AI training (also called data labeling, annotation, or human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create, review, and rate examples that teach models how to perform tasks. This role focuses on evaluating text guidance and workflows so models learn to describe and recommend correct Lightworks post-production processes.
These projects are often remote and flexible, making them a good fit for freelance editors, producers, and post teams who want part-time, technical work that directly shapes how future tools help editors.
Role overview
You will review AI-generated instructions and workflow descriptions for Lightworks non-linear editing, auditing accuracy and usability. Your feedback helps improve model guidance around editing operations, media management, exports, VFX routing, and interoperability with common interchange formats.
This is a contractor, part-time position requiring 20+ hours/week. Work is remote and open worldwide; English is required. Compensation range: $50–$100 USD per hour.
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
Language: English (en)
Location: Remote, worldwide
What you'll do
Evaluate text-based, AI-generated guidance and rate whether instructions accurately reflect Lightworks workflows and technical decisions. Focus on concrete, technical correctness rather than style alone.
Identify errors, omissions, and risky recommendations that could break a real project or lead to data loss during editing or interchange.
Review AI output for console-driven and keyboard editing workflows.
Audit multi-cam editing, proxy workflows, local vs linked media, and project-sharing behavior.
Validate media format and codec guidance, XML/EDL export instructions, and AVID/ProTools interchange notes.
Check VFX routing, node-based effects, color grading/LUT recommendations, and metadata handling.
Provide evaluation ratings and short diagnostic comments per example.
Requirements
All required skills come from the role description. We will verify candidates’ practical Lightworks experience and their ability to judge technical post workflows accurately.
Strong hands-on Lightworks editing experience, including rapid keyboard-driven editing.
Professional video production, editing, or compositing experience.
Familiarity with proxy media, link-based vs local files, and advanced bin/media management.
Experience with multi-cam editing, Shark console operations, and VFX routing.
Understanding of AVID and ProTools interchange, XML and EDL exports, media formats, codecs, metadata, and LUT workflows.
Attention to detail and experience troubleshooting complex post-production scenarios.
Helpful background (not required)
Candidates with the following experience will be especially competitive but these are not strict requirements for entry-level roles.
Junior film editor, post-production specialist, or video producer with extensive Lightworks use.
Hands-on multi-cam editing and Shark console familiarity.
Previous exposure to AI tools, model evaluation, or annotation work in media production.
