About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the centralized platform where people build careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers discover and manage specialized AI training projects, consolidate proof-of-work in one profile, and develop a durable freelance portfolio focused on human-in-the-loop AI work.

Working through OpenTrain connects your post-production expertise to real AI training tasks: you’ll evaluate model outputs that shape how next-generation editing assistants behave while keeping full control of your profile and applications.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building AI: people review, rate, and correct model outputs so systems learn accurate, safe workflows. These projects are often remote, flexible, and accessible to professionals and experienced practitioners.

This role focuses on evaluating AI-generated guidance for technical post-production scenarios — your assessments directly improve models that will advise editors, automate repetitive tasks, and surface correct delivery instructions.

The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Lightworks Post-Production AI Training Specialist to review and evaluate AI-generated instructions tied to advanced Lightworks workflows and post-production operations. You will assess whether model guidance is correct, complete, and usable for editors working with complex projects.

  • Employment: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours per week
  • Experience level: Entry level (the role requires demonstrable mastery of Lightworks and professional post workflows)
  • Language: English
  • Work location: Remote / Worldwide

What You’ll Do

You will review AI outputs and rate their accuracy, clarity, and applicability to real-world Lightworks editing scenarios. Tasks focus on technical evaluation rather than content creation.

  • Review AI-generated instructions about trimming, keyboard-driven edits, and console-driven operations (including the Shark console).
  • Evaluate multi-cam workflows, proxy/link-based media handling, and bin/asset organization recommendations.
  • Validate export and delivery guidance for AVID and ProTools interchange, plus EDL and XML compatibility.
  • Assess descriptions of Lightworks interface behavior, metadata handling, and collaborative project sharing.
  • Troubleshoot advanced post-production scenarios and document findings clearly for model training.
  • Provide expert feedback on node-based VFX techniques and cinematic color workflows (LUTs, grading pipelines).
  • Produce evaluation ratings and RLHF-style feedback on textual model outputs (data type: text).

Requirements

The role requires hands-on post-production experience and the ability to communicate technical workflow issues clearly in writing.

  • Deep practical experience with Lightworks, including keyboard-driven editing logic and rapid workflow efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of professional video production and editing techniques.
  • Experience with proxy workflows, link-based and local media, and asset organization.
  • Hands-on experience with node-based visual effects and LUT color grading.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues in project sharing and metadata workflows.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background as a Film Editor, Post-Production Specialist, or Video Producer.

Helpful Background & Compensation

Helpful but not required: prior experience using AI or automation in post-production, familiarity with broadcast delivery specifications, and leadership experience in remote collaborative editing environments.

Compensation is paid hourly. Pay range: USD $50–$100 per hour (roles on this project pay up to $100/hr). Exact rate may vary by assignment and experience.

  • Label types: Evaluation ratings and RLHF-style feedback
  • Data type: Text
  • Typical workflow: review model responses, rate accuracy, and submit written feedback through OpenTrain

How to Apply and Next Steps

Apply via your OpenTrain profile. Make sure your profile highlights practical Lightworks experience, relevant projects, and post-production credits — this helps match you to tasks and demonstrate domain expertise.

Once accepted, you’ll receive task instructions, examples, and evaluation rubrics. Your feedback will be used to train and improve models that assist editors with real-world workflows.
