The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Lifestyle AI Recipe Author for a short-term contractor project. You will create domain-specific recipes that teach an AI assistant inside Google Sheets how to turn plain-text requests into fully functional, interactive applications.

The project focuses on lifestyle scenarios such as personal fitness tracking, event planning, road trips, and pet care. You will own each recipe from initial guidance and discovery questions through reference spreadsheet development, app iteration, quality control, and final sign-off.

What You'll Do

You will translate genuine lifestyle experience into clear instructions, structured workflows, and realistic interactive applications. Your work should reflect how people actually plan, track, and manage everyday activities, including the edge cases that can make an assistant's output less useful.

• Author original domain-specific recipes in your own words, including domain rules, common gotchas, and discovery parameters.
• Design step-by-step interview questions that help the AI assistant resolve ambiguity and uncover missing user requirements.
• Build and verify clean, multi-tab Google Sheets with everyday formulas, organized data, and structured validation.
• Test and iterate on AI-generated visual apps through daily check-ins and quality-control reviews.
• Refine each app until it meets real-world user needs and receives final quality sign-off.
• Ensure all content is authentically human-written and based on genuine, lived experience with the assigned scenario.

Requirements

This role is best suited to someone who combines strong plain-English writing with practical experience managing a real-world lifestyle scenario. You should be comfortable turning informal user needs into structured questions, spreadsheet logic, and clear guidance for an AI assistant.

• Direct, hands-on experience managing a lifestyle scenario such as fitness tracking, event planning, road trips, or pet care.
• Deep familiarity with relevant edge cases and gotchas.
• Exceptional plain-English writing skills that produce natural, human-sounding content.
• Ability to create 100% human-authored, non-AI-generated insights.
• Strong Google Sheets proficiency, including multi-tab spreadsheets, formulas, clear organization, and structured validation.
• Ability to anticipate user intent and write natural interview questions that uncover missing requirements.
• Personal desktop or laptop and a stable, high-speed internet connection in a remote setup.
• Availability for 40 hours per week, weekend on-call coverage, and 8 hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time.

Helpful Background

A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field is helpful. Previous work in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or a related analytical role is preferred but not required.
