The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Life and Annuity Insurance AI Evaluation Specialist to develop high-quality insurance reasoning data. You will design realistic cases, write practitioner-quality reference responses, and assess AI outputs against standards for suitability, product accuracy, mathematical correctness, and disclosure adequacy.
The work requires clear explanations of life insurance and annuity decisions, including the ability to distinguish product and suitability judgment from formal investment, tax, or legal advice.
Contract opportunity with at least 20 hours per week expected
40 or more hours per week is preferred

Ongoing rate of $80 per hour after onboarding
Successful onboarding includes a flat $800 payment
What You’ll Do
You will create and review detailed scenarios that reflect realistic life insurance and annuity practice. Your written feedback will identify errors and help improve model behavior and reasoning quality.
Design cases involving needs analysis, product selection, illustrations, and medical or financial underwriting
Evaluate AI outputs for product accuracy, suitability, mathematical correctness, and disclosure adequacy
Identify unsupported illustration assumptions and unsuitable recommendations
Spot product confusion, tax-treatment confusion, and failures to apply replacement or disclosure requirements
Provide clear written feedback that improves model reasoning
Required Experience and Skills
Applicants should have at least two years of professional experience in life insurance or annuity advisory, underwriting, new business, policy administration, product, or suitability review. Strong written communication, quantitative accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.
Working knowledge of at least one product family, such as term, whole life, universal life, indexed universal life, or fixed, indexed, and variable annuities
Ability to explain cost of insurance, crediting methods, caps, participation rates, surrender charges, riders, guarantees, and tax treatment
Ability to assess suitability, replacement considerations, disclosure adequacy, and tax-treatment distinctions
Quantitative accuracy when comparing illustrations and evaluating policy outcomes
Clear reasoning that separates product judgment from formal investment, tax, or legal advice
Helpful Professional Background
The following experience can strengthen an application, particularly when it involves detailed product analysis, case review, or regulatory and disclosure considerations.
CLU, ChFC, FLMI, or CFP designation
Life and health producer license or securities registration
Underwriting experience, including APS or laboratory-result review
Reinsurance referral experience
Familiarity with Reg BI or replacement and disclosure review
Experience with buy-sell, key-person, estate-planning, premium-finance, or executive-benefit cases
