The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting freelance Legal LLM Evaluation Analysts to support the evaluation of large language models in legal contexts. You will review legal materials and model outputs, assess the accuracy and consistency of interpretations, and apply legal expertise to help improve model performance.

What You'll Do
You will combine legal research, document analysis, logical deduction, and careful written evaluation when reviewing language-model performance.
Evaluate complex legal and logical reasoning problems used to assess language-model performance.
Analyze statutes, case law, and legal scenarios for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with legal principles.
Summarize legal documents and rulings into clear, logical sections.
Validate claims and interpretations through online research and legal databases.
Review language-model outputs using legal writing, statutory interpretation, and analytical judgment.
Required Qualifications
This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates with formal legal education and strong analytical abilities. A law degree or current final-year legal study is required, along with fluent English comprehension and communication.
LLB or LLM qualification, or current final-year LLB study.
Strong understanding of legal terminology, statutes, case law, and legal interpretation.
Excellent legal research and analytical reasoning skills.
Proficiency in legal writing, logical deduction, and statutory interpretation.
Fluent English comprehension and communication.
Helpful Background
Experience in legal support or research can be useful in this role, although it is not listed as required. Familiarity with established legal research tools may also help you work efficiently with source materials.
Legal Associate, Paralegal, Law Clerk, or Legal Researcher experience.
Familiarity with LexisNexis, Westlaw, or other online legal databases.
