The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Legal AI Training and Evaluation Attorney to support AI training focused on US legal document evaluation. The work involves legal memoranda, opinions, contracts, and related documents, using careful human review and written feedback to improve AI systems.
This is an entry-level AI training opportunity for experienced legal professionals. Prior AI training experience is not required; strong real-world legal knowledge is the most important qualification.

What You'll Do
You will analyze and research US law across a range of topics and complex fact patterns. You will also create, review, and refine legal materials while assessing whether they meet standards for accuracy, clarity, and professional quality.
The role includes structured evaluation, quality assurance, and remote collaboration on multidisciplinary project deliverables. Attention to detail and sound legal judgment will be essential throughout the work.
Conduct in-depth legal analysis and research

Requirements
Applicants must have an active license to practice law and a strong understanding of professional legal standards. Experience handling sophisticated legal matters at one or more Vault Law 100 firms is required, along with demonstrated skill in legal research, analysis, and drafting.
You should be comfortable evaluating written legal content against quality standards or rubrics. Strong written and verbal communication, precision, and the ability to collaborate remotely are important. Prior experience with AI training is not required.
Active license to practice law
Experience at one or more Vault Law 100 firms
Experience handling sophisticated legal matters
Ability to analyze and research US law across complex fact patterns
Skill drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents
Judgment to assess accuracy, ambiguity, and legal best practices
Strong written and verbal communication
Familiarity with quality assurance or rubric-based document evaluation
Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
