The Role
OpenTrain is hiring a Legal Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across legal AI training projects. You will review AI-generated legal explanations, legal research responses, contract analyses, policy interpretations, case summaries, and compliance guidance.
The role combines legal content review with quality monitoring, trainer and QA communication, documentation, onboarding support, and process improvement for remote legal-review teams. The listed experience level is entry level, with a strong legal background required.

What You'll Do
You will evaluate legal AI outputs and trainer QA work against detailed project standards. You will also help keep distributed teams aligned through clear communication, accurate documentation, and practical process improvements.
Review legal AI outputs and trainer QA work for accuracy, clarity, caution, and rubric adherence.
Identify recurring quality issues and escalate critical problems.
Communicate project updates, guidelines, and expectations to trainers and QAs.
Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
Support onboarding calls, training workflows, and ongoing quality alignment.
Flag unsafe, misleading, overconfident, or jurisdictionally inappropriate legal outputs.
Help improve scalable QA processes for legal AI training projects.
Required Qualifications
This role requires strong legal judgment and the ability to assess nuanced written content. You should be comfortable giving precise written feedback, coordinating with remote teams, and maintaining operational materials with close attention to detail.
Strong background in legal practice, legal research, contract review, compliance, or related work.
Strong English communication skills for written feedback and team coordination.
Ability to evaluate legal content against detailed rubrics.
Ability to identify reasoning, citation, and jurisdiction issues.
Organized and detail-oriented approach to operational documentation.
Experience leading or supporting remote teams is strongly preferred.
Experience with AI training, data annotation, prompt or response evaluation, or legal content QA is a plus.
Helpful Background and Tools
A JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent degree in law or a closely related field is helpful. Familiarity with collaborative and project-tracking tools can support the documentation, onboarding, and coordination responsibilities of the role.
