About AI Response Evaluation
AI response evaluation is part of the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Experts review model-generated answers, check whether the reasoning is sound, and provide examples and feedback that help AI systems become more accurate, useful, and reliable.
In this role, your Kotlin and software engineering knowledge will help assess coding responses across Android development, backend engineering, architecture, and related programming topics.
- Contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge AI systems
- Use your technical judgment to improve model behavior
- Combine software engineering expertise with flexible remote work
The Role
OpenTrain AI is hiring Kotlin AI Response Evaluators for remote hourly work. You will review AI-generated Kotlin responses, judge their correctness and reasoning quality, and produce expert-level explanations and model solutions.
The work covers Kotlin, Android development, backend engineering, coroutines, null safety, Ktor, Android Jetpack, software architecture, and LLM-assisted coding. You will assess responses for accuracy, clarity, prompt adherence, and technical soundness while helping strengthen AI performance through high-quality feedback.
- Experience level: Intermediate
- Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
- Compensation: Up to $55 per hour
- Employment types: Contractor and part-time
- Data type: Text and text generation
What You’ll Do
You will evaluate generated coding content and create technically strong examples that demonstrate correct Kotlin approaches. The work requires careful fact-checking, clear written explanations, and the ability to distinguish between competing solutions.
- Review AI-generated Kotlin responses for correctness, reasoning quality, and prompt adherence
- Write expert-level Kotlin explanations and model solutions
- Fact-check technical claims and identify methodological or conceptual errors
- Rate and compare multiple AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and problem-solving quality
- Create prompts and responses that improve AI learning across Kotlin and software engineering topics
- Test AI models for inaccuracies, bias, and reliability across use cases
Required Qualifications
This role requires hands-on Kotlin development experience and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly in English. You should be comfortable reviewing code for correctness, evaluating idiomatic style, and weighing software architecture trade-offs.
- At least 2 years of hands-on Kotlin development experience
- Strong understanding of Kotlin null safety, coroutines, and functional idioms
- Professional Kotlin software engineering experience in Android or backend services
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
- Ability to evaluate idiomatic Kotlin style, design decisions, and architecture trade-offs
- Excellent English writing skills
- Experience using LLMs for coding, debugging, or code review
Helpful Background
The following experience is welcome but is not listed as required. It can help you evaluate a wider range of Kotlin responses and production-oriented technical decisions.
- Experience with Ktor
- Experience with Android Jetpack
- Advanced coroutine usage in production systems
- Merged pull requests in Kotlin open-source projects
- Competitive programming experience
- Previous AI data training, model evaluation, or app-logic review experience
