About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare and review examples that help models understand documents, text, images, and other data. This fast-growing field offers flexible opportunities to work on cutting-edge technology.

  • Remote work using a computer and internet connection
  • Part-time flexibility that can fit around other commitments
  • Opportunities to apply language skills, subject knowledge, and attention to detail
  • Direct involvement in improving how AI systems interpret information

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Korean Document Annotation QA Expert to review OCR-processed Korean-language PDF documents in a daily quality-assurance queue. You will check whether annotations meet detailed standards for layout, text accuracy, entity classification, reading order, and document structure.

The work includes correcting OCR pre-annotations and providing clear feedback on Korean-language correctness, layout interpretation, classification decisions, and adherence to annotation guidelines.

  • Role type: Part-time contractor
  • Experience level: Entry level
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Location eligibility: South Korea
  • Languages: Korean and English
  • Pay: $40 USD per hour

What You’ll Do

You will review dense and varied document layouts and confirm that each reviewed file reaches the required quality bar before submission. When issues appear, you will return them to annotators with actionable notes and escalate recurring patterns or unclear guidelines to project leads.

  • Review annotated Korean PDF documents in a daily QA queue
  • Check that document fields have correctly placed bounding boxes
  • Verify Korean content, reading order, and OCR transcription accuracy
  • Correct subtle character-level OCR errors in Korean text
  • Validate classifications for tables, charts, text blocks, key-value pairs, headers, and footers
  • Review table boundaries, row and column alignment, merged cells, headers, and logical hierarchy
  • Return issues to annotators with clear, actionable feedback
  • Escalate recurring error patterns and guideline ambiguities
  • Confirm documents meet the required quality standard before submission

Requirements

This role requires native or fluent Korean and strong professional English. You should be comfortable performing precise character-level review in Korean and writing detailed QA feedback in English.

Prior experience in QA, data annotation, document review, content review, OCR validation, or a closely related role is required. Familiarity with OCR systems, document parsing, PDF annotation, or structured document review is also expected.

  • Native or fluent Korean with accuracy in character review, spacing, grammar, and usage
  • Strong professional English for project communication and written feedback
  • Experience in QA, document review, OCR validation, or data annotation
  • Ability to verify, revise, add, and classify bounding boxes
  • Ability to review dense layouts, tables, merged cells, headers, footers, and multi-column text
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent self-review habits
  • Familiarity with Korean OCR errors, spacing, grammar, and honorific usage
  • Ability to apply detailed annotation guidelines consistently across many documents

Helpful Background

Experience with OCR-processed documents and document-understanding workflows will help you succeed. Comfort reviewing Korean-language layout, transcription, and annotation issues across large volumes of work is also valuable.
