Why Work in AI Training
AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors annotate data, write and evaluate examples, and directly shape how state-of-the-art models behave.
This kind of work is often 100% remote, flexible, and accessible—ideal for developers who want part-time, meaningful work contributing to cutting-edge AI.
The Role
We are looking for experienced JavaScript developers to join a long-term AI training project. This is a remote, contractor role for 6 months, requiring a commitment of 20–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
You will write short programs and code snippets in JavaScript based on prompts, debug AI-generated JavaScript, and produce accurate, high-quality training examples that teach AI models how JavaScript code should be written and corrected.
- Contract length: 6 months
- Weekly commitment: 20–40 hours, set your own hours
- Work location: Remote (worldwide)
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day work will focus on creating and validating JavaScript training data and improving AI outputs by providing correct code and clear fixes.
Tasks are concrete and iterative: produce example solutions, refactor or optimize snippets, identify and fix bugs in AI-suggested code, and ensure examples meet the project’s quality standards.
- Write code snippets and short programs in JavaScript based on given prompts
- Debug and correct AI-generated JavaScript code
- Refine and optimize code for readability, correctness, and performance
- Document common error patterns and provide clear fixes that become training labels
Requirements
All substantive requirements below come from the project brief. Candidates must meet the stated minimums.
The project provides a JavaScript coding assessment after you submit your proposal; successful completion is required to be considered.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on JavaScript
- Proven ability to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize JavaScript code
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective English communication
- Reliable remote work setup: stable internet connection and consistent electricity
- Ability to commit 20–40 hours per week for the 6-month contract
Who Should Apply
Experienced JavaScript developers who enjoy clear, structured coding tasks and contributing to datasets that teach AI how to write and fix code should apply. This role suits people who prefer flexible, part-time remote contracting.
Note: applicants with less than 2 years’ professional experience will receive a low Qualification Score per the project guidelines.
Compensation, Logistics, and How to Apply
Compensation is USD 6.90 per hour, paid on a contractor basis. The role is classified as part-time contractor work.
To apply, submit your proposal through OpenTrain. After submission you will be sent a JavaScript coding assessment to complete; passing that assessment is required to move forward.
- Payment type: Pay per hour (USD 6.90/hr)
- Employment types: Contractor, Part-time
- Labeling focus: computer code / programming (JavaScript)
