This role is open worldwide and is structured as flexible, part-time contract work. You can contribute fewer than 20 hours per week while developing experience in a fast-growing technical field.
About AI Training and Scientific Safety Evaluation
AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Specialists write examples, evaluate model responses, classify content, and provide expert feedback so AI systems become more accurate, useful, and responsible.
In this project, your scientific judgment will help assess how AI handles specialized Japanese-language topics, including sensitive or dual-use information. Your feedback can help improve model behavior in areas where accuracy and responsible communication are especially important.
The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Japanese Scientific AI Safety Evaluator to support AI training focused on specialized scientific content. You will create expert-level prompts in Japanese and review model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive material.
The role is suitable for an ongoing or completed PhD-level scientist in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field. Prior AI or machine learning experience is not required because training on the applicable workflow and guidelines is provided.
