The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Japanese law evaluator to assess AI responses to real questions of Japanese law. You will run the same prompts through two large language model platforms, compare the results, score each response using a standardized rubric, and provide concise written feedback.

This is a short-term, high-impact contractor opportunity with meaningful potential for follow-on work. The initial commitment is approximately 10 hours, while the listed time requirement is 20+ hours per week.

Requirements

This role requires professional legal experience and authorization to practice in Japan. Strong written Japanese and precise, independent work are essential for producing reliable evaluations.

• At least 2 years of law-firm experience in litigation, disputes, or contentious practice
• Three or more years of relevant experience preferred
• Qualified to practice in Japan as a bengoshi or gaikokuho jimu bengoshi
• Strong command of Japanese litigation and procedural law
• Native or fluent Japanese with precise written communication
• Ability to work independently using a rubric and meeting deadlines
