The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Investment Banking AI Training Associate to create high-quality training data that reflects authentic investment banking workflows. You will combine hands-on transaction, valuation, financial modeling, and written-analysis expertise with structured evaluation of AI-generated deliverables.

The listing is classified as entry level, but the role requires substantial professional experience, including 3-6+ years in investment banking and an advanced finance degree.

• Subject matter focus: Investment Banking Workflow Review
• Work with document-based data
• Create text-generation and evaluation-rating training data
• Target compensation: $45-$100 USD per hour
• Final contractor terms will be confirmed for the engagement

What You'll Do

You will design, author, refine, and assess tasks that reflect the quality and judgment expected in professional investment banking work. Your responsibilities will include both producing model outputs and evaluating AI-generated deliverables for accuracy, clarity, and methodological soundness.

• Create tasks involving pitch books, valuation analysis, market updates, deal comparables, and precedent transaction reviews
• Develop and review DCF, LBO, merger consequences, accretion/dilution, trading comparable, and precedent transaction models
• Write analysis covering deal rationale, strategic fit, capital structure, and market conditions
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, professional formatting, and alignment with analyst- and associate-level deliverables
• Help calibrate rubrics and quality standards
• Address nuanced edge cases in financial reasoning and methodology
• Maintain precise, clear, and professional documentation and written communication

Requirements

You should bring direct investment banking experience and the ability to produce work that meets demanding professional standards. Experience may come from M&A, ECM, DCM, LevFin, or industry coverage.

An MBA, Master’s in Finance, or equivalent advanced degree is required. You must also be comfortable applying nuanced financial judgment to both structured models and concise written analysis.

• 3-6+ years of hands-on investment banking experience
• Experience building financial models and pitch materials reviewed by Managing Directors or presented to clients
• Practical experience with DCF, LBO, merger consequences, accretion/dilution, trading comparable, and precedent transaction models
• Strong valuation, deal analysis, and financial analysis judgment
• Ability to assess deal rationale, strategic fit, capital structure, and transaction analysis
• Exceptional written and verbal communication
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to produce clear, concise, client-ready commentary
• MBA, Master’s in Finance, or equivalent advanced degree
