Why AI Training Work Matters
AI systems learn from examples and human review. In healthcare revenue-cycle operations, that human work teaches models how to post payments, match remittances, and reconcile cash so automated tools can scale safely.
This type of work is often remote and flexible, and contributors directly shape how AI handles sensitive, audit-ready financial processes in healthcare.
The Role
You will evaluate AI tools used for electronic remittance (ERA/835) processing, payment posting, lockbox reconciliation, bank deposit matching, and cash close reporting. Your reviews and structured feedback will be used to improve posting accuracy and reconcile speed.
This is a contract, part-time role for U.S.-based candidates who can commit 20+ hours per week. Compensation is $85 per hour.
What You'll Do
Review AI-generated payment posting outputs, ERA matching recommendations, and reconciliation reports for accuracy and completeness.
Reconcile posted payments against bank deposits, lockbox reports, and payer remittances to identify variance.
Process and evaluate electronic remittance advice (ERA/835) handling and manual EOB posting scenarios.
Annotate AI outputs and provide structured feedback to create training data and evaluation ratings that improve model performance.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in cash posting, payment reconciliation, or revenue cycle operations.
Minimum 2 years in a management role overseeing payment posting or reconciliation teams.
Deep knowledge of ERA/835 processing, EOB interpretation, and lockbox reconciliation.
Experience in high-volume payment posting workflows and familiarity with payer remittance adjustment reason codes.
Hands-on experience with billing or payment posting systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
Clear written and verbal English communication; must be located in the United States.
Who Should Apply
Apply if you are an experienced revenue-cycle professional who enjoys detailed audit-ready review and teaching systems through structured feedback. Ideal candidates combine technical posting skill with team leadership and a strong understanding of internal controls.
This role fits contractors looking for steady part-time work (20+ hours/week) and who want to influence how AI automates complex healthcare financial workflows.
