The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an expert Graphic Designer to annotate editorial, poster, and marketing design assets, along with short video clips. You will deconstruct completed designs into compositional layers and create structured metadata describing their visual systems.
The role requires precise communication about design concepts, framing, movement, and visual flow. You will also create exemplar annotations, identify schema edge cases, and work with project leads and quality control as annotation frameworks evolve.

What You'll Do
You will evaluate and structure layered design files using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar tools. Your work will turn finished creative assets into detailed, consistent annotations that capture both visible elements and underlying design logic.
You will also support the ongoing improvement of the project by documenting ambiguity, missing categories, and difficult cases. Strong alignment with project leads and quality control will be important as the annotation schema and guidelines are updated.
Annotate editorial, poster, and marketing design assets according to a defined schema
Annotate short video clips using cinematography and composition standards
Describe hierarchy, geometry, style, typography, framing, movement, and visual flow
Deconstruct completed designs into compositional layers and structured metadata
Create exemplar annotations that establish quality benchmarks
Document ambiguous cases, missing categories, and annotation schema edge cases
Use Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and comparable design platforms
Maintain alignment with project leads and quality control
Requirements And Qualifications
The ideal contributor has substantial professional experience in graphic design, visual or brand design, layout, print, editorial design, or art direction. Contributors with 7 or more years of experience or art direction expertise are encouraged to pursue quality leadership tracks.
A bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related background is preferred. An equivalent professional portfolio demonstrating relevant expertise may also qualify.
Candidates should be able to explain and document design concepts precisely in written English. The work requires advanced visual judgment and meticulous structured content documentation.
3-5 or more years of relevant professional design experience preferred
Portfolio showing advanced typography, color, layout, and visual hierarchy
Experience with editorial and marketing design contexts
Expert proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent platforms
Strong written English proficiency
Background in poster, editorial, or marketing layout design
Motion design, video editing, or cinematography experience is an added advantage
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional portfolio
