About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We hire and contract contributors to teach AI by reviewing examples, creating model solutions, and evaluating outputs — helping you grow a durable freelance career in a fast-growing industry.

  • Creating an OpenTrain account is free.
  • OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role.

About AI Training Work

AI training (data labeling / human feedback) is the human side of building modern AI systems. Contributors annotate and evaluate model outputs — from code and explanations to images and audio — and directly shape how state-of-the-art models behave.

This role focuses on training generative models on technical content: evaluating correctness, reasoning, idiomatic style, and producing high-quality reference solutions that models learn from.

  • Work is typically 100% remote and flexible — suitable for part-time or contract schedules.
  • Many projects need no prior AI experience, but technical expertise increases impact and pay.

The Role

As a Go AI Training Engineer you'll review AI-generated Go code and explanations, write clear model solutions and pedagogical technical explanations, and evaluate multiple model responses for correctness, readability, and backend idioms. Your feedback will improve model outputs for backend development tasks.

  • Tasks center on Go best practices: concurrency, error handling, clear interfaces, and backend design.
  • Labeling types include evaluation/rating, text generation, and RLHF-style comparisons and critiques.

What You'll Do

You will perform expert review and authoring work that trains models on high-quality Go code and explanations. Reviews emphasize correctness, safety, maintainability, and idiomatic Go style.

  • Review AI-generated Go code and explanations for correctness, readability, and idiomatic style.
  • Identify issues in concurrency, goroutines, channels, shared-state bugs, and error propagation.
  • Write clear model solutions and pedagogical technical explanations.
  • Compare and evaluate multiple AI responses for accuracy, reasoning quality, fluency, and relevance.
  • Create prompts and responses to support AI training across backend and systems topics.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the stated technical and professional requirements. We preserve every qualification from the role description.

  • 1 to 2+ years of professional Go programming experience in backend services, APIs, or systems work.
  • Strong understanding of Go idioms, readable interfaces, and idiomatic error handling.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining production Go applications.
  • Ability to assess backend-oriented Go code, including concurrency patterns, API design, and error propagation.
  • Excellent English writing skills and a disciplined, detail-oriented working style.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.

Helpful Background

These skills make you especially competitive but are not strict requirements unless listed above.

  • Experience with AI data training, code review at scale, or evaluation of AI-generated technical content.
  • Experience using LLMs or AI coding assistants and validating their output carefully.
  • Familiarity with Gin, gRPC, Echo, cloud-native development, merged Go open-source PRs, or Go profiling tools.

Compensation, Location & Schedule

This is a flexible, part-time contract role. OpenTrain pays up to $60/hour depending on country variant. The work expectation is 20+ hours per week.

  • Hourly rate: up to $60 USD per hour, country-dependent.
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours/week, flexible scheduling.
  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Hiring across select countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Pakistan, the Philippines, Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Indonesia, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Germany, and the United States.

How to Apply

If this aligns with your skills and schedule, create a free OpenTrain account and submit your application. Include examples of your Go work or links to public repositories when possible to help us assess your experience.

  • Be prepared to demonstrate Go code samples and explain design decisions.
  • Fluency in English is required for clear technical writing and evaluations.
