About AI Voice Training

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. For text-to-speech systems, professional contributors record carefully prepared examples that help models learn natural pronunciation, pacing, tone, and expressive delivery.

Your recordings will support the training and evaluation of a natural-sounding customer service AI agent. The recordings are intended exclusively for this internal agent and will not be sold or reused.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a native German Voice Actor currently based in Germany to create high-quality recordings for text-to-speech systems. You will record conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts while maintaining a consistent and natural performance across sessions.

This is an entry-level AI training project with specific professional voice experience requirements. The role is offered as a part-time contractor engagement requiring less than 20 hours per week, typically 5–10 hours weekly over the project duration.

What You'll Do

You will follow detailed recording instructions and deliver clean, consistent audio suitable for AI voice training and evaluation. Some assignments may require multiple takes with different emotional qualities, emphasis, or vocal styles.

• Record conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts.
• Deliver clear, natural, and expressive German speech.
• Control tone, pacing, pronunciation, intonation, diction, and emotional range.
• Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across sessions.
• Follow guidance for recording environment, microphone setup, and file formatting.
• Perform multiple takes with varied emotion, emphasis, and style when requested.
• Provide vocal styles such as conversational, corporate, energetic, or calm.

Requirements

Applicants must be native German speakers currently based in Germany and should have proven experience using their voice professionally. You must also be comfortable with your voice being cloned for AI training purposes.

• Native German speaker currently based in Germany.
• Proven experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting.
• Professional or near-professional recording setup, including a quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter.
• Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional expression.
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while keeping delivery natural.
• Reliable availability for 5–10 hours per week over the project duration.
• Comfort with voice cloning for the AI agent.
