The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a German Music AI Evaluation Expert to assess generative music AI models. You will compare AI-generated songs, classify musical characteristics, and review generated lyrics and vocals against reference material.

This is a remote, freelance contractor opportunity with part-time scheduling and a time requirement of 20 or more hours per week. The role is categorized as entry level in the listing, while the required qualifications include at least two years of professional experience in music production, audio engineering, or mixing engineering.

What You'll Do

You will provide detailed evaluations of AI-generated music and help identify quality across musical, vocal, lyrical, and production dimensions.

• Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head for musicality, creativity, and prompt adherence.
• Evaluate vocal quality and production mix quality.
• Label songs by genre, structure, instruments, vocals, and other musical characteristics.
• Review AI-generated lyrics and vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy.
• Apply consistent judgment while following detailed evaluation instructions.

Requirements

You should have professional audio expertise and the ability to perform critical listening using appropriate equipment. German-language fluency is essential, along with enough written English proficiency to follow detailed instructions.

• Native or near-native proficiency in German.
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English.
• At least 2 years of professional experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated music for musicality, creativity, and production quality.
• Familiarity with a wide range of German music genres and artists.
• Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening.

Preferred Background

Additional music education and experience with publicly released work can strengthen your perspective when assessing generated music, lyrics, vocals, and production.

• Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition.
• Credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work.
