The Role

You will review multi-channel French audio sessions and the human-validated annotations derived from them. Work focuses on audio fidelity checks, verbatim transcription accuracy (including overlaps and disfluencies), diarization verification, timestamps, metadata, and content-safety flags.

This is a remote, contract, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week. The position is entry level but requires native French fluency and a careful ear for conversational speech.

What You'll Do

Perform detailed quality assurance on multi-channel French recordings and their annotations, producing clear review decisions and actionable correction feedback.

• Audit audio for fidelity issues: clipping, low gain, bleed, and general recording quality.
• Validate verbatim transcriptions including overlaps, interruptions, false starts, disfluencies, and backchannels.
• Check turn-level and word-level timestamps and confirm speaker attribution (diarization).
• Review structured metadata for consistency and correct demographic or contextual markers.
• Flag and document content-safety concerns such as PII, toxic or sensitive material, and provide clear notes for corrections.

Requirements

• Native proficiency in French (required for conversational-level nuance).
• Strong ability to detect subtle audio defects: bleed, clipping, low gain, and background noise.
• Experience reviewing multi-speaker conversations with overlapping dialogue.
• Careful attention to verbatim transcription, timestamps, and diarization accuracy.
• Comfort reading and validating structured annotation data and leaving clear correction feedback.
• Ability to audit sessions for PII, toxic language, and other sensitive content.

Helpful Background

These qualifications are not required but will help you succeed and may be useful when competing for projects in this area.

• Training or education in linguistics, phonetics, or speech-language studies with experience of unnormalized, conversational speech.
• Professional transcription experience with strict accuracy targets.
• Experience documenting disfluencies, backchannels, and other conversational phenomena.
