The Financial Systems Expert Role
As a Financial Systems Expert, you will evaluate AI-generated accounting output for technical accuracy and assess how well model responses reflect real-world accounting processes. You will review financial documents and workflows, identify errors or misstatements, and provide correct treatments with clear rationale.
This expert-level contractor role is designed for professionals with substantial hands-on accounting experience and prior paid experience supporting AI training through annotation, labeling, RLHF, AI response evaluation, model evaluation, or rubric-based grading.

What You'll Do
You will combine accounting expertise with structured AI evaluation. Your written feedback and reference answers will help project and model teams identify weaknesses, resolve ambiguous cases, and improve system performance.
Evaluate AI-generated accounting treatments, calculations, journal entries, and explanations for technical accuracy.
Review, analyze, and annotate financial statements, reconciliations, and close workpapers.
Identify misstatements and provide the correct accounting treatment with supporting rationale.
Assess accounting workflows and financial systems logic across NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, and Dynamics 365.
Apply written rubrics and grading guidelines consistently when rating or ranking model output.
Flag ambiguous cases for review when the applicable guidance or expected answer is unclear.
Contribute real-world accounting scenarios and reference answers based on modern financial systems and practices.
Deliver clear, actionable written feedback to project and model teams.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
The strongest candidates will have at least three years of hands-on experience in financial accounting, month-end close, corporate accounting, audit, bookkeeping, financial reporting, management or cost accounting, or FP&A involving substantive accounting work.
Prior paid Human Data support for AI training is a firm project requirement. This may include annotation, labeling, RLHF, AI response evaluation, model evaluation, or rubric-based grading.
At least 3 years of relevant hands-on financial or accounting experience
Experience preparing or reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, or financial statements
Hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365, Workday, or comparable systems
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel environments is valued
Familiarity with BlackLine, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Stripe, Avalara, Anaplan, Tableau, or Power BI is highly regarded
Demonstrated prior paid experience in AI training or Human Data work is required
Strong written and verbal English communication skills at B2 level or above
Reliable internet connection
Previous verified participation in OpenTrain projects is a plus
