OpenTrain AI is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled contributors with projects that teach AI systems how to understand and evaluate real-world content, and we help professionals grow durable freelance careers in this fast-growing field.
OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. You will join a remote-first community shaping how AI models behave while working on clearly scoped, impactful evaluation tasks.
About AI Training Work
AI training (a.k.a. data labeling or annotation) is the human work behind how modern AI systems learn. For finance-focused projects, contributors evaluate model outputs, rate accuracy and relevance, and flag subtle domain-specific errors so models reflect high-quality financial reasoning.
This work is typically remote and flexible, and it directly influences how state-of-the-art systems perform in sensitive domains like finance. Many contributors start with no prior annotation experience and grow into specialist roles that pay more as they gain domain expertise.
The Role
As Finance Program Coordinator you will operate at the center of a finance evaluation program, coordinating raters, tracking tasks, and ensuring quality and consistency across finance labeling workflows. Your focus will be executional—closing gaps, triaging finance questions, and escalating ambiguous cases to subject-matter experts.
This is a contractor, part-time role limited to contributors based in the United States; you will report to program leads within OpenTrain AI and work closely with finance subject-matter experts and reviewer teams.
What You'll Do
You will combine program coordination with hands-on quality oversight to keep the finance evaluation pipeline moving smoothly.
Coordinate day-to-day work between finance raters and program leads, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed on schedule.
Build and maintain task-tracking, escalation, and quality-check processes to catch and resolve execution gaps.
Review throughput and quality signals, produce concise written status updates, and communicate trends to stakeholders.
Triage finance-specific rater questions, document recurring issues, and escalate ambiguous or policy-sensitive cases to SMEs.
Work directly with subject-matter experts to keep finance data accurate, consistent, and aligned with labeling guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
We are looking for an experienced finance operations professional who has coordinated contributors or reviewers and can manage quality under tight schedules.
5–10 years of experience in finance or finance operations.
Proven experience coordinating contributors, reviewers, analysts, or similar teams to deadlines and quality standards.
Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to triage ambiguous work and escalate issues clearly and promptly.
Reliable weekday availability for at least 35 hours per week (must be based in the US).
Demonstrated career growth in coordination, program support, or operations roles.
Schedule, Compensation, and Logistics
This is a contractor, part-time position with regular weekday hours. Candidates must be available for at least 35 hours per week and able to work US-based weekday schedules.
Pay is hourly, USD $40–$60 per hour. The work type is evaluation/rating of text data (finance evaluation); labeling software will be provided and training will be supplied for program processes.
Who Should Apply
Apply if you have a strong finance background, experience running or coordinating reviewer teams, and enjoy translating domain expertise into clear, executable processes that improve data quality.
This role suits people who like fast feedback loops, working cross-functionally with SMEs, and who want to play a direct role in shaping how AI systems handle finance-related content.
How to Apply
