The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Finance Chat Support Expert to provide omnichannel chat support for small and medium-sized business owners. You will answer general help questions as well as complex, data-heavy accounting queries that require strong financial expertise.

This fully remote contractor position combines finance support, financial data interpretation, and AI training. The expected duration is approximately four months, with a possible extension.

• Schedule: At least 4 hours per day, up to 40 hours per week
• Availability: 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time

What You'll Do

You will support SMB business owners through omnichannel chat while creating and evaluating training data for finance-focused AI models. The work requires careful analysis, clear communication, and the ability to manage detailed accounting questions.

• Respond to customer queries through omnichannel chat platforms.
• Handle accounting-related questions that require deep financial expertise.
• Provide bookkeeping and financial guidance to SMB owners.
• Analyze and interpret financial data.
• Handle complex, data-driven accounting questions.
• Complete assigned PowerPoint-based tasks as needed.
• Contribute to AI training data that improves model capabilities in finance and accounting.

Required Qualifications

This role is suited to accounting and bookkeeping professionals who are comfortable using QuickBooks Online and responding to detailed customer questions. You should be able to explain financial concepts clearly while working with high-volume, data-heavy queries.

• Active user of QuickBooks Online, also known as QBO.
• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Prior experience with omnichannel chat support.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts and data analysis.
• Ability to handle complex, data-driven accounting questions.

Preferred Background

Experience supporting small and medium-sized businesses is especially relevant. SMB business owners with hands-on accounting experience, as well as accountants and bookkeepers accustomed to high-volume queries, may be a strong fit.

• Experience handling high-volume, data-heavy financial questions.
