About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People review realistic work, assess model outputs, identify errors, and provide structured feedback so AI systems become more accurate, useful, and reliable.

This role applies professional finance and insurance judgment to AI-generated work products. Your evaluations help determine whether an AI agent's work is accurate, practical, and acceptable to an experienced practitioner.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Finance and Insurance Practice Reviewer to audit AI-generated work products against standards used by experienced practitioners. You will review realistic finance or insurance tasks, the AI agent's completed work, supporting files, and an AI grader's scoresheet.

This is hands-on expert evaluation rather than execution of the underlying professional task. Each item takes approximately one hour, and the default commitment is 10 hours per week.

  • Remote contractor work for eligible professionals in the United States
  • Part-time schedule of less than 20 hours per week
  • Pay of $75-$90 per hour
  • English-language work

What You'll Do

You will assess whether each task reflects work that would genuinely arise in professional finance or insurance practice. You will also evaluate the AI agent's output and determine whether the grader's conclusions are supported by the evidence.

Your reviews should be clear, careful, and grounded in the responsibilities and standards of your specialty.

  • Check figures, calculations, terminology, regulations, standards, constraints, and internal consistency.
  • Review spreadsheet and PDF calculations and determine whether figures reconcile.
  • Evaluate whether professional requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Review eleven yes-or-no grading decisions for accuracy.
  • Explain any disagreement with the AI grader.
  • Assign your own quality band based on whether a practitioner could use or accept the work.
  • Compare your assessment with the reported score and provide a concise rationale.

Requirements

You should have current or recent professional experience in a finance or insurance specialty. The listing is classified as entry level for AI evaluation work, but practical domain experience and confident professional judgment are required.

Near-native business English, strong written reasoning, and confidence reviewing spreadsheets or PDFs are essential. Familiarity with SEC, FINRA, and US state insurance requirements is valuable where relevant to your specialty.

  • Experience in financial management, securities, financial advice, investment analysis, or bank, brokerage, or insurance customer service
  • Ability to identify inaccurate figures, terminology, regulations, constraints, and unmet requirements
  • Ability to detect subtle errors in models, suitability materials, claims, policy changes, account servicing, or related work products
  • Skill reviewing spreadsheets and PDFs and checking whether figures reconcile
  • Near-native business English and the ability to justify evaluation decisions clearly
  • Familiarity with SEC, FINRA, and US state insurance considerations where relevant

Helpful Professional Background

Experience owning budgets or forecasts, placing trades, advising client households, building decision-useful models, handling claims or policy changes, reviewing junior work, or participating in audits and regulatory examinations is especially useful.

  • Financial management
  • Securities or financial services sales
  • Personal financial advising
  • Financial or investment analysis
  • Bank, brokerage, or insurance customer service
  • Audits, regulatory examinations, or review of junior professional work
