The role

You will act as an Engineering & Technical Documentation Specialist focused on Technical Documentation Review for AI training projects. The job centers on comparing source engineering documents and model outputs to project rubrics, writing clear expert responses, and explaining your reasoning so the feedback can improve model behavior.

This role works with documents (engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD exports, inspection reports) and includes tasks categorized as classification, evaluation/rating, and text-generation.

What you'll do day-to-day

Work independently to review source materials and model outputs against detailed project guidelines and rubrics, then record your judgments and written feedback.

Focus on clarity and repeatability so your feedback can be used to improve model training and evaluation consistently across many examples.

• Write or improve expert responses and clearly explain the reasoning behind your decisions.
• Compare drawings, schematics, CAD outputs, and inspection reports to expected standards and mark conformity or issues.
• Apply project rubrics consistently to rate or classify documents and model-generated text.
• Provide structured corrections or alternative phrasing to help models learn from your expertise.
• Maintain high consistency and quality across repeated review tasks and follow quality-control directions from project leads.

Requirements

The most important qualification is strong real-world knowledge of technical documentation and the ability to explain judgments clearly in English.

This is listed at entry level for the project but requires demonstrable familiarity with engineering or related documentation and careful written communication.

• Relevant professional, academic, or language expertise in Technical Documentation Review (engineering, construction, architecture, manufacturing, or related fields).
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD files, or schematics.
• Ability to write structured rubrics or checklists for technical review and follow existing rubrics closely.
• Strong written communication, clear explanation of diagrams/charts, and attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently on remote contractor tasks and collaborating with project leads when required.
• Fluency in English.

Schedule, pay, and contract details

This is a remote contractor role with flexible independent execution. Expect to work 20+ hours per week based on project needs and your availability.

Pay is $40–$50 per hour. Estimated project earnings are $6,400–$8,000 based on the schedule and duration shown on OpenTrain.
