About AI training and this study

AI training is the human work behind modern AI: people provide real-world examples, corrections, and expert judgment so models learn useful, accurate behavior. Studies and interviews with practitioners are a core part of that work—your expertise helps shape how models describe and reason about real jobs.

This project collects practitioner input about elementary classroom work to improve how educational tasks and skills are represented in training data used by educational AI systems.

The role

OpenTrain AI is hiring experienced elementary school teachers for a one-time remote study (online survey or interview) about day-to-day classroom responsibilities. There may be an optional follow-up survey, task, or short interview paid separately.

This is a contract, part-time engagement open only to U.S.-based candidates.

• Pay: $30 per hour for the study work.

What you'll do

Share your classroom experience in a structured online survey or live interview. The study centers on concrete examples of lesson planning, instruction, classroom management, and the academic and social skills you teach.

If invited, complete any optional follow-up survey, short task, or interview; follow-up work is paid separately and described when offered.

• Describe daily routines, lesson planning steps, and classroom management strategies.
• Explain the skills (academic and social) you emphasize and how you assess them.
• Provide concrete examples and clarify typical time allocation for tasks when requested.

Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the listed eligibility and experience requirements below. We will verify recent work status during screening.

• Minimum 4+ years teaching elementary school (special education excluded).
• Currently working in an elementary classroom or have worked in one within the last 12 months.
• Direct, practical knowledge of lesson planning, instruction, and classroom management.
• U.S.-based eligibility (must reside and be authorized to work in the United States).
• Ability to discuss day-to-day elementary teaching responsibilities clearly in English.

How it works
