About AI Training and Model Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Specialists review examples, assess model responses, write expert content, and provide structured feedback so AI systems can produce more accurate and useful results.

  • Apply real-world expertise to cutting-edge AI systems
  • Evaluate explanations, reasoning, and generated solutions
  • Complete flexible, part-time work from a remote setting

The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting an Electrical Engineering AI Evaluation Specialist for contract expert-review work focused on AI training and model evaluation. You will review AI-generated electrical engineering prompts, responses, explanations, and step-by-step solutions, helping refine them through structured human expertise and clear written feedback.

The role is suited to an intermediate-level electrical engineering professional or academic with strong subject knowledge and the ability to assess technical accuracy, safety, feasibility, and reasoning quality.

  • Pay: $40-$100 per hour
  • Work type: Contract, part time
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Language: English
  • Eligible locations: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam

What You'll Do

You will assess technical content against project guidelines and explain your judgments in writing. Your feedback will help improve model behavior across repeated evaluation and refinement tasks.

  • Write or improve expert electrical engineering responses
  • Explain your reasoning clearly and accurately
  • Review source materials and model outputs against project guidelines
  • Check mathematical correctness, units, assumptions, and feasibility
  • Identify unsafe recommendations, missing constraints, and incomplete reasoning
  • Apply evaluation rubrics consistently across repeated tasks
  • Review content involving schematics, simulation outputs, PCB artifacts, or test reports

Required Expertise and Skills

The most important qualification is strong real-world, academic, or professional knowledge of electrical engineering. You should be comfortable evaluating detailed technical explanations and communicating precise written feedback.

  • Deep understanding of circuit analysis, power systems, power electronics, controls, and EMI or EMC safety concepts
  • Hands-on familiarity with at least one area such as embedded systems, RF and communications, instrumentation, or electronics testing
  • Experience checking AI-generated engineering explanations
  • Prior exposure to AI data training, annotation, red-teaming, or technical model evaluation
  • Strong written communication in English
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply rubrics consistently
  • Comfort working independently on remote contractor tasks

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is a strong fit for electrical engineering professionals, academics, researchers, and experienced practitioners who can translate technical judgment into clear feedback. It is especially relevant if you have worked with engineering documentation, simulations, hardware testing, or AI evaluation.

  • Electrical engineers with experience in one or more specialist areas
  • Technical reviewers who can spot flawed assumptions or unsafe guidance
  • Engineering experts interested in shaping how AI handles technical problems
  • Contributors who can commit to at least 20 hours per week
