The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an Education and Tutoring Expert for a remote contractor project focused on realistic one-on-one tutoring and educational conversations. You will participate in paired conversation sessions with other project participants and demonstrate how effective educators support learners.

The project is expected to run for 3 to 6 months. The role is open to candidates based in the United States or Canada who are fluent in English.

What You'll Do

You will take part in structured but natural educational conversations designed to represent real-world tutoring and teaching interactions. Your work should be clear, accurate, supportive, and responsive to the learner's needs.

  • Participate in realistic one-on-one tutoring and educational conversations.
  • Simulate common tutoring scenarios, including explaining concepts, answering questions, guiding learners, and providing academic support.
  • Give clear, accurate, and helpful explanations tailored to different learning needs and levels.
  • Demonstrate effective teaching techniques, active listening, questioning, and student engagement.
  • Adapt your communication and teaching approach based on the learner's understanding, needs, and progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance in a supportive, professional manner.
  • Follow project guidelines so conversations remain natural and representative of real-world tutoring or teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

This expert-level project is designed for professionals with meaningful experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or providing academic support. Several years of hands-on experience are preferred.

  • Professional experience as a teacher, private tutor, academic tutor, educator, academic coach, or similar professional.
  • Several years of hands-on teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or academic support experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt explanations to different learners.
  • Experience conducting one-on-one tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or academic coaching sessions.
  • Strong active listening, patience, and student engagement skills.
  • Fluent English proficiency.
  • Comfort working remotely and participating in paired conversation sessions.
