The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Clinical Social Work AI Training Expert to design evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in large human services and clinical social work contexts. You will create realistic case scenarios and reference documentation that reflect how senior clinicians and case management leaders approach complex cases, stakeholder sensitivity, and client-outcome stakes.

This is a remote contractor opportunity with a listed commitment of 40 hours per week. Structured role information also indicates a minimum time requirement of 20+ hours per week.

What You’ll Do

You will translate practical social work expertise into structured AI training materials. The work focuses on realistic practice situations rather than generic textbook or policy-manual recall.

• Construct scenarios covering complex case assessment, multi-stakeholder care coordination, and crisis intervention or mandated reporting cycles.
• Build tasks across clinical social work, child and family welfare, healthcare and medical social work, substance use and mental health services, and community-based case management.
• Develop practice scenarios involving electronic health and case record systems, including EHR and CCWIS platforms, risk and needs assessment instruments, and interagency referral systems.
• Apply biopsychosocial assessment, trauma-informed care, strengths-based practice, and the NASW Code of Ethics.
• Produce reference case plans, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary team communications.
• Author rubrics that distinguish authentic clinical and ethical judgment from generic knowledge recall.

Required Qualifications

This role requires substantial professional experience in clinical social work or senior case management. You should understand how social work standards, care coordination, mandated reporting, and ethical and legal compliance operate in practice.

• LCSW or LMSW credential.
• At least five years working as a licensed clinical social worker or senior case management professional.
• Experience in a hospital system, child welfare agency, behavioral health organization, or large nonprofit.
• Direct ownership of clinical caseloads, family or child welfare cases, or program-level service delivery.
• Fluency in social work practice standards and case management tooling.
• Understanding of mandated reporting, interagency coordination, and ethical and legal compliance.
• Fluency in biopsychosocial assessment, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based practice.

Preferred Experience

Experience creating structured materials is especially relevant to this work. Prior authorship of evaluation rubrics, clinical training curricula, or case documentation is a plus.
