The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Chemistry AI Training Expert to create and solve advanced chemistry problems for language-model fine-tuning. You will convert postgraduate and engineering-level chemistry knowledge into accurate training questions, rigorous solutions, and clear explanations.

What You'll Do

You will develop technically accurate chemistry content and explain difficult concepts in a way that is rigorous, structured, and understandable. Your work may combine written reasoning with equations, annotated chemical structures, diagrams, visual representations, and simulations when useful.

  • Create advanced chemistry questions and solve them with detailed reasoning.
  • Analyze complex organic reaction mechanisms using text and annotated chemical structures.
  • Solve chemical equilibrium problems with reaction-progress and energy diagrams.
  • Address challenging problems in stoichiometry, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, and electrochemistry.
  • Provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations for model-training content.
  • Communicate scientific reasoning clearly using equations, diagrams, and simple language.

Requirements

You should have postgraduate-level knowledge across organic, physical, inorganic, and analytical chemistry, with analytical and research skills suited to complex problem solving. Knowledge comparable to postgraduate or PhD-level study is expected.

Strong written English is required. You must be able to explain advanced scientific ideas clearly, annotate content precisely, work independently, and collaborate remotely. A reliable desktop or laptop and a good internet connection are also required.
