About AI training and this work

AI systems learn from human examples, and people who prepare and label that data shape how models behave. This role focuses on image-based UI work: capturing screenshots from professional CAD workflows, identifying interactive interface elements, and writing natural-language instructions that mirror expert use.

AI training work is often flexible and contract-based; many contributors build part-time careers doing focused specialist tasks. This project requires expert CAD experience and pays at a premium rate because it needs real software proficiency and careful, precise output.

The role

You will produce high-quality screenshots from real CAD workflows and annotate interactive UI elements so AI models learn to recognize and reason about complex software interfaces. The role begins with a pilot period where early submissions are reviewed closely; strong performers move into steady production.

• Employment type: Contractor, part-time.
• Location: Applicants must be based in the United States or Canada.
• Time: 20+ hours per week (flexible scheduling).
• Experience level: Expert — hands-on professional CAD experience required.
• Pay: $70–$90 USD per hour, paid per hour.

What you’ll do

• Capture screenshots from professional CAD workflows in tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, Revit, Siemens NX, or similar.
• Annotate buttons, menus, panels, toolbars, dialogs and other interactive UI elements accurately and consistently using bounding boxes/object-detection labels.
• Write clear, natural-English task instructions that reflect expert usage patterns and precise workflows.
• Iterate on submissions after feedback during the pilot phase and maintain quality standards in production.

Requirements

• Hands-on professional experience using CAD software (examples: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, Revit, Siemens NX).
• Strong working knowledge of daily CAD workflows and complex interfaces.
• Ability to recognize and annotate interactive UI elements in dense, technical software screens.
• Clear written English and skill writing concise, usable task instructions.
• Reliable access to the relevant CAD software for capturing screenshots.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow capture and annotation guidelines precisely.

Helpful background

You do not need prior AI-labeling experience if you have strong CAD expertise, but familiarity with screenshot-based annotation, software documentation, or precision QA work is an advantage.

• Experience with UI annotation workflows or image labeling tools is helpful.
• Prior work producing technical screenshots or software tutorials is a plus.

How this project works

The project starts with a pilot phase: early submissions receive close review and feedback to ensure alignment with labeling guidelines. After the pilot, you will move into production with ongoing quality checks and feedback cycles.
