Why AI training matters for designers
AI systems learn from human judgments. As generative and design-capable models become widespread, expert human evaluation is essential to ensure brand outputs meet professional standards for identity, composition, and messaging.
Work that shapes how models generate logos, packaging concepts, campaign visuals, layouts, and brand systems.
Flexible, remote work that directly influences state-of-the-art design tools and brand-focused AI behavior.
The role: Brand Design Review Specialist
You will create precise, task-specific scoring criteria and use them to evaluate image-based design deliverables. Your written justifications must make each score clear, consistent, and reproducible so model training teams can learn from your decisions.
Design grading rubrics for brand identity, logos, visual systems, packaging, campaign visuals, layouts, digital/social assets, and messaging.
Score AI-generated and human work samples using evaluation ratings and supply evidence-based written critiques.
Apply expert discernment across typography, hierarchy, composition, color, and overall brand system thinking.
What you'll do day-to-day
Develop and refine clear scoring criteria and examples for each task type.
Review image deliverables and assign evaluation ratings backed by concise, defensible written feedback.
Follow project guidelines and maintain consistency across batches of annotations.
Flag ambiguous or out-of-scope samples and contribute suggestions to improve instructions.
Required qualifications
5+ years of professional brand, visual, or graphic design experience.
Background at an independent brand or design agency with hands-on identity work.
Deep fluency in brand identity, creative direction, web or graphic design disciplines.
Strong written communication and the ability to explain why work does or does not meet the bar.
Ability to evaluate logos, visual identity, layout, typography, and brand systems precisely.
Nice-to-have experience
Experience with copywriting, audience or competitor research, positioning, or creative strategy.
Prior work evaluating model outputs, training data, or participating in AI evaluation projects.
