The Role

We are seeking U.S.-based, board-certified radiologists (ABR or AOBR) to annotate diagnostic medical images (DICOM). This is a contract, part-time role for 1–2 months with flexible scheduling.

Work involves applying structured labeling guidelines to radiology images using a secure web platform. Accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail are essential.

What You’ll Do

Review diagnostic radiology DICOM images and apply labels according to provided protocols. Tasks will include marking regions of interest and assigning image-level classifications.

Follow structured guidelines precisely, document edge cases when instructed, and flag images that need clinical adjudication per project workflow.

• Draw bounding boxes around findings as instructed
• Assign classifications for image- or study-level labels
• Record notes or metadata when guidelines require
• Escalate ambiguous or uncertain cases per instructions

Requirements

• Must-have: Basic computer proficiency and ability to use web-based annotation tools
• Must-have: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured labeling guidelines
• Nice-to-have: Previous annotation or dataset experience
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with structured reporting standards (BI-RADS, PI-RADS, LI-RADS)
• Nice-to-have: Experience with PACS or annotation tools; clinical AI research experience

Project Details & Technical Notes

Data type: medical DICOM images. Labeling work will include bounding-box annotations and image/study classifications. All work is performed on a secure online platform with detailed instructions and quality checks.

This role is suitable for radiologists seeking additional consulting or side work; prior annotation experience is preferred but not required. You will work as an independent contractor and set your own hours within the project timeframe.
