The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting an intermediate Blender 3D AI Training Expert for a part-time hourly contract. You will design and record realistic Blender tasks that reflect professional production work, document the workflows clearly, and define objective criteria for evaluating AI agent attempts.
The role requires at least 20 hours per week and pays $18-$30 per hour. Work is available to contractors in the eligible countries listed below.

What You'll Do
You will create complete, production-realistic Blender tasks and demonstrate how an experienced 3D artist would solve them. Each recording should capture the relevant actions, interface state, and file changes so that AI systems can learn from the workflow and be evaluated against it.
You will also review other contributors' recordings for completeness and accuracy, apply detailed rubrics consistently, and maintain project quality standards throughout the work.
Create tasks ranging from simple operations to complex, multi-step workflows.
Record end-to-end expert demonstrations using provided screen capture tools.
Document workflows step by step in clear professional English.
Define verification and success criteria that support objective scoring of AI attempts.
Review and quality-check other contributors' recordings.
Keep recordings free of personal information and use only approved applications.
Requirements
This role is intended for a Blender-focused 3D artist with 2-5 years of professional experience and strong practical knowledge of the full 3D workflow. You should be comfortable explaining your process, troubleshooting problems, and turning expert judgment into objective evaluation criteria.
Professional Blender-focused 3D artist experience of 2-5 years.
Proficiency in modeling, clean topology, modifiers, modifier stack workflows, and UV unwrapping.
Proficiency with materials, shading, lighting, and rendering in Cycles or EEVEE.
Experience with node-based systems, including Shader Editor and Geometry Nodes.
Ability to troubleshoot bad topology, non-manifold geometry, shading problems, scale issues, and other common 3D problems.
Strong analytical skills for defining objective verification criteria for 3D tasks.
English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with clear written workflow documentation.
Ability to apply detailed rubrics consistently across many similar tasks.
Self-directed approach and strong asynchronous work habits.
Previous experience in AI data training, annotation, evaluation, or benchmarking.
