  • Remote contractor opportunity
  • Part-time schedule of less than 20 hours per week
  • Paid pilot with potential for recurring engagement as the work scales

About AI Training and Expert Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts create examples, review model outputs, and develop evaluation standards that help AI systems produce more accurate and useful analysis. In this project, your biotech and investment expertise will help assess whether AI-generated reasoning about drug assets and companies is complete, well supported, and appropriately calibrated.

  • Contribute to cutting-edge AI training work
  • Use professional judgment to evaluate investment-style analysis
  • Help identify weak, overconfident, or incomplete reasoning

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Biotech Investment Analyst for a paid pilot focused on commercial drugs and drug-development programs. You will create and critique rubrics used to assess drug assets and the companies behind them, then apply those assessments across an approximate pilot set of 5–10 companies.

The work requires an end-to-end view of biotech and pharmaceutical opportunities, including mechanism, clinical data, competitive position, and value drivers. You will also judge the quality of investment-style theses and identify missing assumptions.

  • Role type: Contractor and part time
  • Location: United States
  • Language: English
  • Workload: Less than 20 hours per week
  • Pay: $120–$200 USD per hour

What You’ll Do

You will help establish rigorous standards for evaluating biotech investment analysis. Your work will combine structured rubric creation with expert review of drug-development and company-level assessments.

  • Create rubrics for analyzing commercial drugs and drug-development programs
  • Critique rubrics for clarity, completeness, and analytical quality
  • Assess companies and drug assets across mechanism, clinical data, competitive position, and value drivers
  • Evaluate investment-style theses
  • Flag weak, overconfident, or missing assumptions
  • Apply your assessments to approximately 5–10 companies

Requirements

This opportunity is intended for a US-based biotech or healthcare investment analyst with a specialist-fund background. You should be comfortable evaluating biotech or pharmaceutical companies and drug assets and assessing a drug asset end to end.

The structured listing classifies the opportunity as entry level, but the role requirements call for at least five years of experience evaluating biotech or pharma companies or assets.

  • Based in the United States
  • Biotech or healthcare investment analyst experience
  • Specialist-fund background
  • 5+ years evaluating biotech or pharma companies or drug assets
  • Familiarity with biotech and pharmaceutical development programs
  • Ability to assess mechanism, clinical data, competitive position, and value drivers
  • Ability to create and critique analytical rubrics
  • Skill in developing or evaluating investment-style theses
  • Professional English proficiency
