You will help improve large language models in biomedical engineering. The work combines prompt writing, technical research, and careful review of AI-generated answers.
Projects are remote and asynchronous. You will work independently as assignments become available throughout the year.
- Create prompts that test biomedical engineering knowledge across specialized topics and subfields.
- Research biomedical engineering questions and concepts with support from AI tools.
- Review large language model responses for accuracy, clarity, and understanding of important concepts.
- Explain whether model outputs correctly understand and communicate biomedical engineering ideas.
What it pays and takes
This role is designed for people with formal biomedical engineering training who can explain technical ideas clearly and judge the quality of specialized answers.
- Pay: up to $50 per hour.
- Schedule: approximately 10 to 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
- Work setting: remote, asynchronous project work from the United States.
- Language: professional fluency in English.
- Education: current junior or senior undergraduate student in biomedical engineering, or a graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering.
- Academic background: undergraduate study at a top-20 institution.
- Skills: clear explanation of biomedical engineering concepts, domain-specific prompt development, and large language model response evaluation.
- Authorization: valid U.S. work or training authorization is required, including applicable F-1/OPT, J-1, or H-1B status.
- Restriction: STEM OPT participants who require a new I-983 cannot be accommodated. Approved I-983, pre-graduation OPT, CPT, J-1, and H-1B participants are not affected by that restriction.
