About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers discover projects, consolidate proof-of-work into a single profile, and grow an ongoing career teaching AI by doing high-impact human-in-the-loop work.

OpenTrain AI is the hiring organization for this role. We connect experienced contributors with evaluative work that directly shapes how AI systems interpret and present business intelligence.

About AI training and evaluation work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building smarter models. Evaluators judge AI outputs—documents, spreadsheets, slide decks—against quality rubrics and provide written feedback so models learn to produce accurate, clear, and professional work.

This type of work is remote, flexible, and accessible to people with domain expertise; it’s a way to turn professional judgement into durable freelance income while helping shape how business tools behave.

The role

You will evaluate AI-generated BI and performance-reporting materials (documents, spreadsheets, slide decks) against domain-specific rubrics, identify factual and presentation problems, and write clear, structured feedback that reflects professional judgment.

This is a contract, part-time evaluator role that requires working independently, following project guidelines closely, and applying BI/reporting experience to consistently score and explain quality issues.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks using detailed, domain-specific quality rubrics.
  • Identify factual errors, visual/aesthetic problems, and presentation issues in dashboards and performance reports.
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback with rationales that guide model improvement and future reviewers.
  • Apply careful judgment to metrics, chart design, narrative flow, and data presentation choices.
  • Follow project instructions precisely and work independently to meet throughput and accuracy targets.

Requirements

You must meet all listed requirements; the role’s structured data also lists an experience-level tag of Entry level, but the substantive requirement below is a professional expectation for this position.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in BI dashboards or performance reporting.
  • Native or professional fluency in English with strong written-feedback skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, especially Slides.
  • Experience evaluating AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, or slide decks and applying rubric-based ratings.
  • Ability to judge factual, visual, and presentation quality and explain decisions clearly.

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (preferred but not required).
  • Prior experience providing structured feedback or quality reviews for AI outputs or automated reports.
  • Familiarity with common BI tools, charting best practices, and performance-metric frameworks.

Schedule, pay, and how it works

This is a remote contractor role, part-time at roughly 20+ hours per week. OpenTrain hires and contracts directly; you will work independently, follow project rubrics, and log your time per project rules.

Pay is on an hourly pay-per-hour basis at USD 80–120 per hour. Work is open worldwide for applicants who meet the requirements and have professional English fluency.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours/week.
  • Languages: Professional English required.
  • Data type: Document review; label type: Evaluation rating.

Who should apply

Experienced BI/reporting professionals who enjoy detailed, rubric-driven review work and who can translate domain judgement into concise, actionable feedback should apply. This role suits people who want flexible, remote contract work that directly impacts how AI systems present business intelligence.

To apply, make sure your OpenTrain profile highlights your BI dashboard and reporting experience, English writing skills, and examples of professional feedback or quality review work.
