OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled contributors with paid projects that teach AI systems how to understand real-world technical work. Creating an OpenTrain account is free.
OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. We focus on long-term, flexible opportunities where contributors gain experience, build a portfolio, and shape how modern AI behaves.
About AI training and why it matters
AI training (data labeling/annotation) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Expert reviewers and creators supply the high-quality examples and corrections that models learn from — everything from drawings and schematics to technical notes and manufacturability guidance.
This work is remote and flexible, often accessible without prior industry connections. For technical contributors, projects offer a chance to apply domain skills (CAD, GD&T, electrical design, PCB layout) to influence how future tools interpret and generate engineering documentation.
The role
OpenTrain AI is recruiting an Architect CAD and Construction Documentation Reviewer to support AI training grounded in architectural and engineering documentation. You will create and review technical documentation packages, clarify requirements through exchanges, and deliver real-world examples that improve model performance.
This is a contract, part-time role targeting 20+ hours per week and available to contributors worldwide who are fluent in English.
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
Language: English (advanced)
Location: Worldwide (remote)
What you’ll do
You will produce and review multi-document technical packages used to train AI systems. Work involves a mix of hands-on CAD drafting, technical annotation, and reviewing others' deliverables to meet clarity and manufacturability standards.
Create detailed floor plans and elevation sets based on project requirements
Develop comprehensive 2D/3D CAD drawings for architectural and engineering purposes
Prepare accurate GD&T callouts for manufacturing documentation
Produce and annotate multi-sheet electrical schematics to industry standards
Design and review PCB layouts with manufacturability and functionality in mind
Collaborate with reviewers to clarify requirements and resolve technical questions
Deliver thorough documentation packages aligned with milestones and quality expectations
Requirements
Candidates must have recent hands-on experience producing and reviewing architectural CAD and construction documentation and be comfortable working remotely with teams in English.
Recent architectural CAD and construction documentation experience
Proficiency with industry-standard 2D and 3D CAD tools and PCB layout design
Ability to generate and interpret GD&T callouts and complex schematic diagrams
Experience with multi-sheet electrical schematics and PCB layouts
Strong attention to detail and organized handling of multi-document sets
Advanced English communication skills; remote cross-functional collaboration experience is a plus
Experience level: Entry level (recent but relevant experience expected)
Compensation, data type, and labeling activity
OpenTrain pays hourly for this role. Work focuses on document data (technical drawings, schematics, and related text) and includes both text-generation and evaluation/rating labeling activities.
